Company Class with Spencer Weidie

Class Description:
Class begins with an energetic gathering of self through guided breathing and meditation. We allow the breathe to move the body through space as we increase our energetic output. After we have awakened our senses, we challenge our brains to stimulate an ever-growing body and mind connection. These exercises are inspired by classical modern techniques, like Graham and Cunningham, with an emphasis on diverse rhythms and tempos. In the final part of class, we will dive into phrase work that integrates our mind, body, and soul connection with complex movement ideas.
About Spencer Weidie
Spencer James Weidie (@spencerjamesweidie) grew up in Kailua, HI. He began his dance training at 24-VII DanceForce under the direction of Marcelo Pacleb. Spencer graduated from the Conservatory of Dance at Purchase College, SUNY (B.F.A. Honors) in Dance with a concentration in Composition. He also studied at London Contemporary Dance School, Springboard Danse Montreal, and with the Merce Cunningham Trust. Spencer is a current company member of Brian Brooks Dance, MADBOOTS DANCE, The Metropolitan Opera Ballet, and was a featured guest artist with Gallim Dance at The Metropolitan Museum of Art.
