SAMA
Commissioned by Rambert2 and the juilliard school
World Premiere | Sadler’s Wells , 2019
SAMA is a glimpse at a tangible universe where individuals have a space to express themselves and transcend through movement. "In the digital and information age we might be numbing our bodies as the fundamental key of being in the world and knowing it. Is this the beginning of an apocalypse of the body? There are essential, ambiguous and complex elements of our humanity that we can only be accessed through our physical experience. Forget conventional, oversimplifying or automated rules of reasoning. The body is the chance of being without reducing.” - Andrea Miller

"Miller plugs into some primal pulse, awakening (and ultimately pummeling) the senses, the dancers living intensely in their bodies." - The Guardian
"Dressed in vibrant silk, the dancers’ hands brush through the air as if throwing water over their bodies." - The Stage
"A rave for the body in motion" - The Times
"The sheer stamina, strength and power that projected with exaggerated gusto…changed the atmosphere within seconds." - Dance Tabs
